Nileas Gorge
Nileas Gorge (Arapis) is located on the road between Keramia and Agia Anna. The name derives from the river Nileas that runs through the gorge, because at certain points the riverbed is black.
Around 3km away from Agia Anna there is a signpost marking a route of dirt road that ends at the entry of Nileas gorge. The trail is marked and the view it offers is breathtaking. On the way we meet Boulovinaina’s Rock. At this point, according to the legend, during the revolution of 1821, a lady named Boulovinaina to avoid being captured by the Turks fell into the abyss which since then bears her name.
